It is important for the public to be aware of the security features incorporated in genuine banknotes and to distinguish between genuine South African banknotes and counterfeit notes.
What you should do if you have counterfeit South African Currency!
It is an offence to be in possession of counterfeit currency. If per chance you realise you have counterfeit currency in your possession, South African law requires that you report this to the nearest South African Police Station. Alternatively, you may call this hotline number: 0860 010 111
